Day 01 ZAGREB Saturday 2008

Day 02 ZAGREB - RISNJAK NATIONAL PARK – OPATIJA Sunday, 2008

Breakfast. We depart early to the region of Gorski Kotar in direction of Rijeka, for our stop at the Risnjak National Park. Visitors to the Park are recommended to take a walk along the educational path “Leska” where they can easily get to know some of its natural resources and carst features. The path leads from the administration building in Bijela Vodica following the road towards west, through a forest of tall fi r trees that grow along the way. The path then turns via Jurjev path across the Leska meadow where the visitor is introduced to numerous rugged interesting features. On the return, the path leads through the hamlet Leska and its two crystal-clear springs. Atfer exploring the national park we depart to charming Opatija in Kvarner bay. Overnight in Opatija at the 4 * Hotel.


Day 03 OPATJIA - BRIJUNI ISLAND NATIONAL PARK - OPATIJA Monday, 2008

Breakfastat the hotel and departure to Fazana,for embarkation on the tourist boat for Brijuni Island National Park. The sightseeing tour includes a ride by tourist train, visit to the remains of a Roman villa dating from the 1 st century B.C. in the bay of Verige, and the safari park which breeds zebra, Somali sheep, zebu (the holy east Indian humped ox), dromedary, llama and elephant. The tour also includes visits to the archaeological museum located in the Citadel building from the XVI century and the Church of St. Germain with permanent exhibition of copies of frescoes and Glagolitic writings from Istra. Return to Opatija. Overnight in Opatija at the 4* Hotel.


Day 04 OPATIJA - PAKLENICA NATIONAL PARK – ZADAR Tuesday, 2008

Early breakfast and departure to Starigrad, a town at the entrance to Paklenica NP. Within the National Park, there are over 150 km of hiking trails. The most frequented trail is the one leading from the reception area through the Velika Paklenica Canyon to the Paklenica Mountain Hut (about a 2 hour walk). Continue to Zadar. Rest of the day free to explore the city. Overnight in Zadar at the 3 * Hotel.



Day 05 ZADAR - KRKA NATIONAL PARK – ZADAR Wednesday, 2008

Breakfast and departure to Krka National Park and the place named Skradinski buk. This locality includes the most attractive part of the Krka National Park. The sightseeing cruise to Skradinski Buk and back lasts approximately 2 hours and includes a walk on footpaths and bridges along the cascade formations, visit to the presentations included in the entrance fee (sightseeing of the mills with expert presentations and demonstrations of the ethnological collection, stamping mills, rollers and weavers’ workshop. Your visit to Skradinski Buk the island of Visovac, visit to the Franciscan monastery, the church and museum followed by a short sightseeing tour around the island. Return to Zadar. Overnight in Zadar at the 3 * Hotel.


Day 06 ZADAR - KORNATI ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK - ZADAR Thursday, 2008

Breakfast and transfer to Zadar pier and embarkation on a tourist boat for the full day excursion to Kornati National Park. In the central part of Croatian Adriatic Sea, about 15 Nm to the south from Zadar town, there is amazing group of islands named Kornati archipelago. Beauty and singularity of the archipelago moved authorities in 1980 to proclaim a large part of that area, a national park. Since then certain modifi cations of its borders were made, so that nowadays Kornati National Park occupies the area of about 220 km2 (54.000 acres). There are 147 islands, islets and reefs within the area of Kornati National Park (36 km in length and 6 kms wide), that make it the most indented group of islands in the Mediterranean. Overnight in Zadar at the 3 * Hotel.


Day 07 ZADAR - PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK - ZAGREB Friday, 2008

Early breakfast and departure for Plitvice Lakes National Park. Situated in a thick forest, Plitvice Lakes is considered one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world. The 16 lakes connected by 92 waterfalls, cascading through picturesque surroundings. Plitvice Lakes were declared a National Park in 1949, and since 1979 they have been on UNESCO’s list of World Natural Heritage. Late afternoon arrival in Zagreb. Overnight at the 5 * Hotel
