Breakfast followed by departure to Plitvice Lakes National Park. A short stop will be made in Rastoke, a small village with old water mills in the mouth of the Sluncica River which fl ows into the Korana River, followed by a guided tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Situated in a thick forest, Plitvice Lakes are considered one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world. The 16 lakes, connected by 92 waterfalls, cascade through picturesque surroundings. Plitvice Lakes were declared a National Park in 1949, and since 1979 they have been on UNESCO’s list of World Natural Heritage. Dinner will be provided at the traditional restaurant “Licka kuca”. Lovers of cultural and historical monuments, art, architecture and interesting alleys, are given the opportunity to learn about manifold and complex heritage from the Romanesque yard to the modern interiors. Breakfast followed by a city tour of Split - the largest and most important town in Dalmatia. The town was developed around the palace, which was erected in the 4th century by the Roman Emperor, Diocletian. Visit the ancient cellars, Cathedral, Temple of Jupiter and the Golden Gate. Breakfast followed by a city tour of Korcula, often called “small Dubrovnik” because of its’ thick city walls. History of this island and town is rich with legends. One of them says that famous Marco Polo was born there, and another says that Trojan hero Antenor founded the fi rst settlement on the island. The extraordinary Renaissance town of Korcula is built of stone on a peninsula and it has a particular plan of streets and buildings (seen from above it looks like a fi sh bone). Breakfast followed by departure for Dubrovnik. Drive along the Peljesac peninsula to Ston, a small place renowned for its’ monumental defensive wall, the largest fortifi cation in urban Euroope. Breakfast followed by city tour, which will reveal the fi nest sites of the old walled city as well as give you the opportunity to view it from the spectacular panoramic point. The walking tour includes visits to the Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s oldest pharmacy and the Cathedral with its’ famous Treasury. After breakfast at the hotel you have a morning at leisure. Afternoon - transfer by coach to the small town of Cavtat. Like Dubrovnik, this town was founded by Greeks from Epidaurus. Mljet is an island lost in the open sea, and is the island mentioned in the stories about Odyssey and St. Paul, as well as Benedictine monks. Mljet is an island of great diversity and contrast.
